  About Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is the game that inspired Quake Wars, it's "predecessor" if you will. W:ET introduced team-based scenarios based on the Wolfenstein series, in which the Allies fought the Axis in multiple engagements.

Enemy Territory only contained 6 maps upon release, in contrast to the 12 maps supplied with Quake Wars, and yet even with all the custom maps available, the base maps are still played more frequently than custom maps. This can be seen as a testament to how good the game is.

Since the game is a free release, you may as well give it a try. Bear in mind it's built on a less demanding engine than Quake Wars, so you can't use it to check if your system will run the latter, however due to the gameplay similarities, Enemy Territory will be good practice for Quake Wars, and it'll give you something to do until the game comes out. wink

Just to note, QuakeWarsFiles will NOT be hosting Enemy Territory mods, the download link for the game is provided for convenience, and because ET and ET:QW are so closely linked. You can, however, access the downloads section hosted on RTCWFiles via here, and also the ET forums.
